Dear Friend(s) in Christ,

Welcome to St. Francis of Assisi Parish!  My name is Fr. Jarrod Lies. It is my hope and prayer that you will be filled with blessings as we journey together in our discipleship with Jesus Christ.

The first step in becoming involved in St. Francis of Assisi Parish is to join us at Sunday Mass. The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Catholic faith. Your regular participation at Sunday Mass honors God, blesses our parish community, and floods your life with the immensity of grace. Also, visit our perpetual adoration chapel, which is open 24 hours a day and located on the northwest corner of the church.

The next step is to say “hi” to the priest after Mass. Fr. Andrew Meng, Fr. Bhaskar Mendam and I are eager to meet you. We are here to help you in the adjustment to your new parish and to meet your spiritual needs. Mr. Travis Pearson is our parish life administrator. He is available after most weekend Masses and can answer many of your questions. Our contact information is in the bulletin or on the website.

Thirdly, don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to fellow parishioners after Sunday Mass or to get involved in the various prayer and formation opportunities that can be found in the bulletin.

Finally, make a visit to the front office. Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sandi Baalman, Harriet Rosa, Monica Kaul and Julia Schauf will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Also, Pat Burns, our director of stewardship, will be able to help you learn about opportunities to serve in our parish or to take you on a tour of the campus.

We hope that you will register as a parishioner as well. Registering places you on the parish mailing roster and provides the parish with the information necessary in case of an emergency. Registration opens the possibility to enroll children in the parish school, schedule baptisms or weddings at St. Francis, use parish halls (which are available to registered parishioners only), and receive monthly collection envelopes by mail. We also encourage children to use their own collection envelopes (found in the front office).

We sincerely hope that your reception here is warm and inviting.  By following these steps – attending  Sunday Mass, meeting the priests, introducing yourself to parishioners, visiting the front office, and registering in the parish – you will begin walking with the parish family of St. Francis of Assisi as fellow disciples of Jesus Christ. Welcome to our parish!

In Christ,

Rev. C. Jarrod Lies, Pastor
